Victoria Wedding Photography

Hello and welcome! I am a wedding photographer in Victoria, BC.  All photos you see here are true documentations of life and love. My clients are regular people, just like you and me. (Not models!) I strive to bring out your story with emotion and beauty.

Beautiful photography that makes you look & feel amazing!

There are no do-overs with weddings and that’s exactly why I love photographing them. It’s a challenge to capture the moment before it’s gone, and one I take great pride in.

You’ve put such care into planning and details that your day deserves to be photographed with equal care. I’ll ensure that all your unseen effort of the day is remembered.

I’m a wedding photographer in Victoria for couples of all faiths and backgrounds. Everyone is beautiful in their own unique way, but sometimes my clients say they feel awkward on camera! (Sound like you?) My goal is to help bring out your inner beauty and make you say “wow” when you see your photos!

Your wedding experience will be the best of both worlds...

It’s hard to choose a wedding photographer. (I know, I’ve been there too!) First, thank you for being here and considering me.

Let me show you what your experience will be like when you work with me.

Since you’re here, you probably love natural, documentary photos that ooze authenticity.  (So do I!) Your wedding is about far more than just photos, so most of your day will be captured without any influence from me.

That said, as your photographer it’s my job to help you look and feel comfortable! I won’t leave you hanging when it’s time for your couple’s portraits or family photos. I have a traditional studio photography background and I know how to help people pose, without feeling awkward.  A little direction goes a long way to help you look and feel confident on camera.

With these two ways of shooting, you get the best of both worlds – traditional portraits that your grandma will want to frame, and a modern wedding album that’s authentically you.

A Family Heirloom that Lasts a Lifetime

Your wedding is a big investment, both financially and emotionally. I want to provide you with a 5-star experience from beginning to end because I know how important this day is. You can relax knowing you’re in good hands!

Pricing:

Weddings start at: $2300  |  Elopements start at: $1190 (Mon-Thurs)  |  Special rates available for off-season weddings.

I’ve worked with hundreds of happy couples since 2007. And yet, no two weddings were ever the same!  Eloping or having a short wedding? I especially love shooting small weddings because it reminds me of my own destination wedding, with just 22 people on the beach in Spain!

All couples, regardless of background, culture, orientation, gender, religion or beliefs are welcome here.

Wedding Photography FAQs

I’ll always include plenty of images of everything I capture. I don’t like to give a cutoff number because I don’t believe in withholding any images from you as an “upsell”. Since I know you want an actual number answer, I’d estimate you’ll get about 50 images per hour of shooting time, but generally you’ll get more.

Great question!  Here’s a bit about me: I am honored to be a wedding photographer, as I believe it comes with great responsibility to capture the details, the feelings and the moments as they unfold. Your day will be filled with spontaneous moments, laughter, smiles; all of which must be captured without a second chance. With over a decade of experience shooting weddings, I assure you the love and feeling of your day will shine through in your photos.

About my clients: Most of my clients want beautiful photos, but don’t want to spend too much time posing. They prefer to spend the majority of the day authentically and have documentary-style photos captured. Many of my clients are a bit older, some with kids already, and some have found love for the second time. All want to look beautiful in their photos, and some think they’ll need a bit of direction.

Does this sound like a match to you?

If so, I’d love to meet up with you over tea or coffee and we’ll get to know each other!

Before your wedding: We’ll either chat on the phone, or meet up in person and see if we are a good fit for each other. You can ask me all the questions you want! If you decide you’d like to book me, I require a signed contract and 50% non-refundable retainer to hold your date.

In the weeks leading up to your event, you can contact me by email anytime you have a question.

I’ll email you 7 days before your wedding just to touch base and make sure there are no changes to your timeline or anything else I need to know.

On the wedding day: You’ll get a variety of documentary and candid photos during your ceremony, and other events throughout your day. We’ll have planned some time for group photos with your family, wedding party or any other groups you’d like. Once that’s done, we’ll usually shoot your couple portraits, and then I’ll end off with more documentary style photos for the remainder of your booked time with me.

After the event: I’ll prepare your images (deleting the no-goods and editing the rest) and deliver them to you in a secure, password-protected gallery which you can share with your family and friends if you choose.

I tend to disappear into the background and capture the day as it happens, without interference from me. When it comes time for the couple portraits and family group photos, I will step out of that role and help people feel comfortable in front the camera and show them how to pose. Once those shots are over, I go back into candid mode. With this approach, you get the best of both worlds; the traditional formal shots, and the more modern looking “documentary” style images.

Most likely! I want to be affordable and have set my rates very competitively.

I’m more than happy to accommodate weddings of all sizes and budgets. In fact, that’s what I do most often. I’ll come out for whatever amount of time you need – even just two hours – and we’ll get some great shots!

I’m able to be flexible because I work from home, and have very little overhead costs. Also, I focus on the quality of the images rather than the quantity. So you can rest assured that you won’t be cutting any corners with regards to amazing wedding photos if you hire me for just a short time.

Not as a general rule. Editing is half the magic that goes into the photos and the raw photos don’t portray a finished vision. That said, if you have a special circumstance and/or just want a few raw photos to play around with feel free to ask me.

Almost! I go through and sort/filter out the bad ones (blinks/blurs/flaws) because you wouldn’t want these anyway. I have a very high “keeper” ratio, and I won’t let you miss out on your memories! All important events will be captured and delivered.

Your photos will be delivered in a secure online gallery. You can share your login password with family and friends if you wish.  All the photos in your gallery will be high-quality, printable files. They will be edited artistically, like you see in my portfolio. You will also get a smaller, web sized copy for sharing on social media. These copies are watermarked.

There are no upsells for more images. You’ll get everything worthy of keeping!

That depends. I include venue scouting with my 6 & 8 hour packages as those tend to be larger weddings with less flexibilty. While it is helpful to get a general feel for the venue, it isn’t necessary for smaller events.  For outdoor public spaces, the likelihood of everything being exactly the same as on your wedding day is slim. Things like the weather, time of day, time of year, the tide, sunrise/sunset time and other people being in the area, all affect where the ideal spot to take photos would be on your day.  For that reason, I don’t always go see your venue in advance, especially if it’s in a park or public space.
